Prop Lists

Props for when I am filming in the theatre;
  • Chair- I am hoping that the chair will help characterize my narrative. My idea is to have one of my  performers sitting in the chair, whilst the other performer will walk round speaking(singing) to them. Making it look dream like rather than reality.
  • Mirror- With the mirror, I am hoping that it will bring through my narrative story of being depressed and trapped in ones mind.
  • Stage lights (Spot Light)- I am hoping that the spot light will bring more character to my music video by bringing out the important features to my characters and to bring to life my music video.

Props for when I am filming outside;
  • Glass vase- I will either be filling the glass vase up with water, or with coloured powder. Then once half full, I will be dropping the vase hoping to capture each fall using three different camera shots/angles.

My updated cast list for my music video

There are two Genres within the song I have chosen, Adult contemporary and Pop.
From this I have been able to create two different structures to my music video, Performance and Narrative
I have chosen to use three characters to whom all will be part of the Performance and Narrative structure, Danny Barley, Lucy Clark, and Katy Clark.

Danny Barley
Danny will  present my male singer, showing two contrasting characters within my music video. He is a very talented musician, and will always put 100% work and effort into what he is doing. With his dashingly good looks, polished characteristics, and smooth style, he has everything I am trying to present in the song I have chosen.

Lucy and Katy Clark
Lucy and Katy will be my female singer, Lucy presenting the inner good and innocence of my female narrative character, and Katy presenting the inner dark, and depressive narrative character in my music video.

Lucy and Katy both have very petite, and natural appearances. Lucy and Katy are going to be mirroring one another displaying each different side to my character. Through this I am hoping to show two contrasting sides.
Lucy and Katy always puts 100% work and effort in everything they do, and I know that they will work alongside each other very well.

New Ideas

When editing some of my narrative tap, I released that my music video wasn't progressing, and developing into what I had imaged. From this, I sat down and went through my planning and footage. Afterwards, I watched the original music video and released that what I was trying to work towards wasn't working out. I knew there where better ways and ideas to communicate to my audience to bring across the lyrics and the message written within the song.
From this, I have decided to brainstorm, and storyboard my new idea for my video. I have decided on sticking with my chosen locations and set styles for both characters. But I will be modifying my cast list to adapt it to my new music video.

Narrative filming images

Location .1. Hessle Foreshore

Whilst taking some of the shots with Lucy, the wind managed to send ripples down the pond. It was something I didn't expect to happen, but it made such an impact when capturing shots.

Because this location is a public place, I had difficult trying to do continuous filming as dog owners and walkers kept wondering into the shots.
It was quite a windy day when we went filming, and that made another impact on my filming as it created  effects that I never thought of using or placing in my music video.

I found when I was filming Lucy that she brought across the character I am trying to portray in my music video. But also added her own approach.

Location .2. Ferriby Woodland
We then carried on filming at Ferriby woodland. I wanted to be there before the sun seated so I could get some shots with Lucy capturing the sun seating through the trees.

I'd decided to change Lucy's look in this location. Trying to add an innocent side to the character.

Trying to make Lucy show emotions through her eyes, and her facial expressions.
